Supercalifragalistic....

Tante Becca told us about the Mary Poppins Sing-A-Long playing at the Wilmette Theater many months ago. They were showing it one Sunday in June, once in July and today. We couldn't make the first two so we went this morning and it was pretty cute. Leo was mesmorized, of course...for the rest of us, it was a bit too long. I actually enjoyed seeing the movie in its entirety since I never get to sit for that long at home. Before the movie, we stopped at Starbucks for a snack and, after, we went to Hackney's for a late lunch. I haven't taken a double sleeping picture in a long time...it was definitely a long day.

Future Jeopardy Star

While we were on our road trip, the kids loved looking at all the different license plates that passed by. I really didn't think it would carry on after we got home, but you would be amazed at how many different plates we see in one day. Leo is cute and asks "what is that license plate?" throughout the day, but Amelia is our true license plate aficianado. Phone calls are made throughout the day, both by Amelia and to Amelia, giving updates on new license plates that were just spotted. Yesterday, as a total suprise, Uncle Gary had a set of Nifty Plates from the Fifty States delivered and you can imagine the look on Amelia's face! These pictures were taken about three minutes after she woke up this morning...and I am sure they will be the last thing she puts away tonight. Thanks, Uncle Gary!

They haven't changed a bit...

Bubbie and Zadie are away for a while, so I am trying to get pics up everyday or so just to let them know we are thinking about them. The kids definitely know the drill :)

Lucky Me

Everyone knows that I am one of the few moms out there *not* counting the days till school starts. There is no point really, I will just barely have more time to myself than I do now. Oh, and then there is that little person joining us a week after Leo starts going to school. And the truth is, despite all the craziness and not listening and tackling and driving me insane...I can't imagine my days without these kids. I do everything with them, from going to work, to buying groceries, to getting my blood drawn (and then seeing the dr. to discuss my results) - they are pretty much always there and I like it that way. Every so often, I enjoy a night of errands by myself or an early morning of doing work alone, but I know that there will be a day when noone wants to get in the car with me, so I am enjoying the time now. What does this have to do with the pictures of my cuties? Well, after a horrible time getting everyone to bed and a hope that I have not lost my voice from all the yelling...I wanted to end the night with what I love the most...

I love these kids...

Bedtime has not always been the best time, but the kids are getting better. Leo tends to like sleeping with Amelia and Amelia tends to like sleeping alone. She does let him sleep with her, but feels smooshed and can't sleep when he is jumping on her...can't imagine why! Tonight, we had the usual stories, each one taking their turn to come out and tell me why they weren't sleeping. I worked out this little sleeping arrangement so that they could sleep together, but not *together* and within minutes they were both sleeping comfortably.

Hours of fun for them...days of recovery for me :)

Our membership to the Morton Arboretum expires next week and I have been meaning to take the kids all summer. Even though there is plenty to be done at home, nothing was going to stop me from going one last time. Thunderstorms were in the forecast, so we got out of the house at 8:00am and beat the crowds...so much so that the Children's Garden didn't even open for 30 minutes after we got there! We had most of the park to ourselves which was nice and we got back home for lunch. Now that I have sat down for a little while, I can finish my Shabbat prep and put this day in the books as another great summer adventure. And, if you were wondering...I didn't see many other hugely pregnant ladies with two toddlers around - I can't imagine why!

Today...

Today was a typical day for the three of us. We drove an hour to have lunch with Danny, went to visit our turtle and snake friends at the Ladd Arboretum and stocked up lots of chicken and meat at the kosher butcher. It was a long day, but a fun one...ok, it was more long than fun for me, but that's not what's important ;)

Downtown Adventure

Yesterday, we went downtown as part of the Annual Tinberg Reunion. We all went our own ways, but the train ride there and back was alot of fun.
----

Leo found a convenient way to eat his breakfast and watch his shows...

Leo loved the train - who doesn't?

Leo conked on the way from the train to lunch...made for a nice lunch for me ;)

I used to work at the "old" Spertus Museum, so we went to visit the new building. It was the most spectacular view of the city that I have ever seen. The kids loved it too!

After Spertus, it was time for our annual trip to Millennium Park and splash around.

We made it to the train, just barely, and had a great time going home with everyone.
