Who is the luckiest?

Yesterday, I was actually away from my children for 4.5 hours - the longest I have ever left Leo. It was extremely liberating to go shopping by myself, a definite luxury for me. When I came home, Danny was in the driveway, holding Leo, and Amelia was on the next door neighbor's lawn with the rest of the kids from the street. It was one of the cutest sights I had ever seen. I miss them when I am not around them, even though it is nice to get away once in a while. I love to laugh with them, more than with anyone else. Leo has one of the cutest giggles I have ever heard and Amelia is one of the silliest girls I know. Her sweetness and sense of humor are rubbing off on her little brother, who she just can't get enough of. As we read stories just before, Leo was grabbing at her face in a way that was very much intentional and so very sweet. We made a decision when Leo was a couple of days old that I was going to let Amelia be as close to Leo as she wanted, as long as noone was getting hurt. This was one of the best decisions we made, as they both want to be together as much as they can.

Closet of Fun

My closet isn't my favorite place in the world these days - it is filled with things that I might never fit into again. Amelia, however, has been enjoying her time in it.

The End of Innocence

For the last couple of weeks, if you stood outside our house, you would hear "turn over Leo...turn overrrrrrrrr", being chanted throughout the day. Last Thursday, he finally listened. While I am so extremely proud of this latest accomplishment, what it really means is that my trips to the bathroom will soon include one more. There will be sitting up, then crawling, and before you know it, 2 more years of going to the potty with a little buddy. I have also spent the last few nights "flipping" Leo over in his crib every so often after he wakes up (screaming) to find his face smooshed into the sheet. He wakes up with the cutest red spots on the side of his face that got the most "sheet time". He is growing up in lightening speed and that's why I spend most of my time taking really good notes. In 5 years, I know I wont care if the dishes were always done. What I will care about is remembering those cute red spots first thing in the morning.

What a busy day

Today was a busy busy day. We had gymnastics in the morning, did some errands, and then went to Amelia's very first dental appointment. Amelia is such a riot at doctor and, now, dental appointments. She doesn't utter a single word the entire time, then uses that saved up energy to recap everything with me in the car for weeks on end. So, here is Amelia trying her best to catch bubbles at gymnastics and getting her teeth cleaned an hour later.

Fun Times

Here are the "big" cousins at our cousin, Rozzie's, birthday party. Everyone loved that slide!
