Our 3rd Annual Turkey Weekend

When I was pregnant with Leo, my family started the tradition of spending Thanksgiving weekend in even colder temperatures than Chicago. The first year we spent Thanksgiving in Port Washington, WI and for the past two years have been driving up to Sheboygan to the Blue Harbor Resort and Water Park. I didn't sleep well, was up with my kids at 6am each morning, and have loads of laundry and cleaning to do now, but the smiles that you see below make it all worthwhile.
Since there were too many to put up, here are some of my favorite shots, the rest can be seen at: http://picasaweb.google.com/dova76/TurkeyWeekend

My Best Leo

Those of you who know me well know that I have definitely been put through the ringer when it comes to Leo and his "boyish" behavior. Amelia never jumped off things, she never threw her food, she never colored on the walls and when she walked through the house, rarely did a tornado follow her. Leo is a whole other sort, but he is wonderful in the way that he can be the most rambonxious child I have ever seen one minute and the next minute, sitting nicely sorting cards or reading or sitting so sweetly with his new CareBear friend. Today Leo was adament about taking CareBear on the rocking horse with him so we found a way and Leo loved it! There may be times where I wish I had more free time or that Leo had more TV time and that you didn't always see things sprawled on my floor in every picture, but would I trade it for the Mommy time I get with the cutest boy in the world? Never.

No Fun At All...

The best thing *ever*!

I wont say that Leo came out of the womb jumping, but I cant really remember a time since he started walking that he wasn't either running or jumping. The boy DOES NOT walk. After having to tear him away from one of Amelia's friend's bounce houses, I decided to look into getting one for the house. Danny did the research over the weekend and today we came home with our very own bounce house, or in other words, the best thing *ever*!

I was hoping Leo wanted to put these undies on his tushy, but he decided that they were better suited as a hat.

Freaky

Today we were graced with our first ever freak accident. Amelia fell from our bed into the bottom drawer of my nightstand. Thankfully, I was able to stop the nightstand from tipping over onto her - oy! Just to make sure nothing was broken, we took Amelia in to Dr. Sherri and she is so proud of herself for "pishing into a plastic cup" for the first time. We were assured that all her ribs are intact and that her kidneys are ok, but she does have a nasty bruise to show for it. Feeling all better, we ended the night with a topless painting session. All is well that ends well...

Pretty Girl

Amelia had the day off from school today so she came with us to Leo's class. Because I knew there would be no hammering, plastering and whatever else they do in preschool, I let her wear whatever she wanted. I thought she looked pretty and I wanted to share ;) I also wanted to get some pictures of Leo, but he was too busy watching Johnny and the Sprites, though I can't really blame him...:)

Halloween, Weinberger style

Amelia and Ari's friend, Dylan, had a Halloween party for the whole class. Here are the best cousins in action.

On our way to the heated mall for Trick-or-Treating

We had made a friend at the Body Shop the other day and she asked Amelia to come back for a makeover. Unfortunately, she forgot and left before we got there, but another nice lady (kind of) stepped in and Amelia had a great time.

Showing off her makeover...

Saying "thank you" in the quietest voice known to man...

Being cute...

The whole gang...
