My two babies...

When Leo was born and I started holding both Amelia and Leo (yes, *holding* both of them...wonder why I have back pain??), I would say "my two babies...". Now, when I hold them both, Amelia says "two babies...(get the) camera". This morning, she gave her baby doll to Leo and said "three babies...camera," so, I did. Smart cookie, that Amelia. And then she let me take a picture of her in her strawberry hat. FYI - those of you who have not seen Leo in person - he actually has a full blown mohawk. It is really cute and anyone who sees us - both friends and strangers - comment on it.

This past week...

Here are some pictures from this past week. No, Leo didn't sprout a mouth full of teeth, he is just always "bubbling" - literally and figuratively. The good news is, Leo is sleeping many hours a night in his crib so we are all happy about that. We are still having fun each day andI cant get over just how sweet Amelia is. I was talking with a friend of a friend who is expecting her first child and I had tears in my eyes when I was telling her about my two munchies and that she wont believe that someone could love her that much. I am lucky enough to be reminded of that first thing in the morning and last thing at night - as well as all day long.

Could I be any luckier?

Seriously - could I?

Ok - we'll keep him (on the blog...)

I took about 30 pictures of Leo today, hoping to catch one with a smile, but he always turned his head just as the flash went off. Little did I know that all I had to do was give him to Bubbie - with Zadie to look at - and I would have the perfect shot. Enjoy the perfect smile as well as some other cute ones from today.

2 months...2 years...2 delicious!

Today is Amelia's 2nd birthday. For me, it is a day to reflect on the past 2 years and how incredibly fast the time has gone. Lucky for me, I spent much of those 2 years staring down at this little person who spent much of her time looking right back at me. Every morning, around the crack of dawn, that same little person - who has grown into such a cute little girl - climbs into my bed and in the dark, squeezed together on my pillow, we talk about what we have planned for the day. I wouldn't give that up for all the sleep in the world. I look at Leo and just smile, looking forward to a time when *he* will crawl into bed in the morning to snuggle and look at me with a love that I would never have believed possible. People have asked me what the most suprising thing has been, having two children, and I would have to say it is Amelia's absolute infatuation with her brother. There might be issues in the future, there may very well be issues right now, but it is all worth it to see my two cookies looking at each other, loving each other so much in such a short period of time.

First Haircut

A couple of weeks ago, I decided it was time for Amelia to tame that wild hairdo of hers (see "Now you know where the name for the blog comes from" and took her for her first haircut. She sat on Bubbie's lap and did what she always does in a new situation - sits quiety and doesn't move until she has assessed the situation. I didn't get any good pictures that day, but my dad got this fabulous one a few days later. I knew my daughter had beautiful eyes, but I had no idea how striking they could be.
