In an attempt to clean up the office, I took out all of the costumes I have collected over the years - some hand me downs and some that I bought after Halloween last year. Shockingly, it took Amelia over a week to discover them, but the fun that was had this afternoon made up for the new mess I now have to clean. Bubbie was lucky enough to come in the middle of the fun, as "Diego" and "Alicia" were running around trying to save the world. I am not sure Bubbie has ever seen the two of them play imaginary games like this and it was definitely a sight to see. A cute little pumpkin showed up soon after the world was saved, showing off some long legs and a goofy sense of humor.
Amelia had no school Wednesday and we had our entire day free. We opened up the Kohl Museum with Ari, had lunch with Danny, had some tree house adventures at Northbrook Court and then met Danny again to take care of some stuff and have an early dinner. We were gone from 8:20am-5:30pm. Yah, I am still recovering...and the kids *still* ask me why we never do anything fun. Hmph.
Building blocks has become a major pass time in our house ever since we bought them a few months ago. Blocks are great because they are a totally creative outlet and both Danny and I love building with the kids. As you can imagine, things now are really crazy. I am slowing down, yet the To Do List is only getting longer. I have really tried playing with the kids more, especially Amelia, even though there is tons to get done. A few minutes of good play can make her day, instead of breaking it for both of us. As we waited for Danny to come home for Shabbat dinner last week, we built this masterpiece. Danny thought it was "blog-worthy" and I agree...and not just what we built ;)
Monday was a bit of a crazy day for a variety of reasons, but I was determined to get a Rosh Hashanah picture of the kids before the night was done. Just the fact that I have both kids looking at me spells success.
