Out, Out!

That's what Amelia says when she cuddles with me and hugs the baby inside of me. Then, as she wraps her arms around my belly, she states - as any wise child would - "hard, hard". Yah, lady - you are telling me. Then we have the millionth discussion of the day about who is going to help take the baby out ("doc") and where she is going to sleep when the baby (finally) does come out ("Bubba"). I am sure many people are laughing when I say this, but this kid is extremely aware of what is going on. If I said that any of us are at all aware of what will go on after the baby is "out, out", we would be kidding ourselves. But, the truth is, if I am lucky enough to feel twice as much love as I do now when my family lays in bed at night to read bedtime stories, I can deal with whatever happens the other 23 1/2 hours that day. And, yes, you can quote me.

Turkey Day

Rather than slaving over a kitchen all night, Bubbie and Zadie took the family to Wisconsin for the weekend. I have been looking forward to it for weeks since this was the last vacation for us for a while. Even though we still got very little sleep and did not come home with any sun tans, we had a very nice weekend, especially when Amelia called for "Bubbbbbbbbie" at 6am and Bubbie and Zadie actually answered from the next door.

Ari and Amelia

I wish I could say that they are always this sweet together...ok, so they really are. Even when they are tearing toys out of each other's hands. These pictures show the essence of their sweetness and it is always nice to capture it to use as proof in later years.

Getting Ready for Baby

As "operation baby drop" gets closer, we are trying our best to get prepared anyway we can. A big thing was to get the carrier back from Becca - it will now be home to it's 4th baby in 4 years. No matter where she is, Amelia feels a magnetic pull to any carseat, booster, or carrier. This one, she knows however, is for her new baby so she started practicing right away. Unlike her Barbie and Dolly, this one wont be as agreeable all the time (or enjoy having his/her clothes put on 50 times a day).

I told you we only had big smiles...

Much to my dismay, we woke up to a white lawn which meant it was time to break out the winter coat - for Amelia, anyway. I knew it was going to warm up later in the day, but I am always looking for a good photo op. Amelia did her part and gave me her biggest smiles ever. We might have to work on some "medium smiles" or she might hurt herself in the process.

Still Here...

It's been a hectic few weeks, but we are still here and - ofcourse - smiling. Some of us are getting less sleep than others, but Amelia is enjoying her big girl bed, nonetheless. Six weeks to go before our lives turn upside down, so we are trying to get prepared the best we can. Amelia is excited to "rock", "kiss", "diaper", and "hug" the new baby and I can't wait to spend my days watching her do it.
