My Best Girl is 4!

Today is Amelia's birthday...her "real" birthday. Not her birthday party, not her school birthday, but her actual birthday! I think she finally understood the importance of the day after she received no presents, but everyone was excited to wish her a Happy Birthday. I told her that it was on this day 4 years ago that she (finally) came out of my tummy. We had a long snowy ride home tonight so we went over the night she was born and how she refused to come out of my tummy. "What was I doing in there?" she asked. I told her that I wish I knew! The one good thing about giving birth is that, while you can remember every horrid detail, you tend to forget how bad it actually felt. Whatever it took to get her out, she has been by my side for 4 years and I couldn't imagine a minute of my life without my Amelia.

As a special treat, we all went to one of the forest preserves and learned about coyotes. They played in pretend snow, became coyotes for a few minutes, and took a real hike outside. Too bad I forgot my boots at home...

We had a long car ride to Danny's work for lunch. The kids had their usual fun in the backseat...
