Where do I start?

8:30am...
We leave our house and head to the Israel Solidarity Walk to meet Becca and the boys. Jackets in tow, we find ourselves freezing our tushes off and losing our hearing to the music of Rabbi Joe Black. Carnival #1 - check.

3:30pm...
We head to the Lag Ba'Omer BBQ hosted by Chabad, ready for the best time *ever*. Not a minute goes by before Amelia's shoes are off and she is sliding down the moonwalk thing-a-majig. Leo attempted to go in there, but watching him being trampled on by big kids was not my idea of a good time. Once the boys came, the real fun began. Who needs food? Flinstone bumper cars (you are supposed to drive with your feet like old Fred and Barney) had them quite entertained, of course it was the Daddies who did all the work. We did some spin art, bubbles, and some more sliding before the evening was through. We did take a break to have a raffle and read some verses with the Rabbi. Amelia wanted to practice for next year so she joined the Rabbi on stage for a while. I couldn't take the arctic temperatures any longer so we left...to put the kids straight into bed. It had been a long day. Carnival #2 - check.

7:10pm - 5 minutes from the house...
I notice an inflatable fire truck outside our favorite conversation piece - the Fire Station down the street from our house. Danny turns the car around and we ask what is going on. Turns out, they are having an open house with ice cream and tours of the station. Who needs a bedtime? We park the car and the kids mingle with the firemen, of course calling Becca to let her know what we are up to. The boys soon join us and they all slide a few more times, have some ice cream, test out the fire pole and tour some of the fire trucks and ambulences. Carnival #3 - as unplanned as ever - check.
