We did it, we did it, we did it, hooray!
So, here's how the day went...Danny took apart *and* put together the new bed by himself while I was at Hebrew School - yes, "wow". I stopped at BB&B on the way home to get some new sheets because, even though Leo loves his Dora crib sheet, I thought Amelia's pink Super Girl sheets would be a little too much. It is funny how two people that came out of the same person - moi - could be so different. I distinctly remember Amelia's first nap in her bed. She went right to sleep, no questions asked. It was only after a day or two when Amelia realized she could climb out and, to this day, continues to make my life so interesting. Leo wasn't as trusting. Everytime I attempted to get him into the bed, his legs refused to hit the sheet and he cried out to me as if I was feeding him to the sharks. He kept asking me for a "nother bed!! nother bed!" I couldn't take the screaming and tears so I took him out for a short break. After a few bribes, I got him to return to the bedroom with me and lay down, with one small request..."Mommy sleep, Mommy sleep!!" If I wasn't trying to do some training, I could have easily fallen asleep, but I did eventually leave him awake in his bed and he cried himself to sleep. As sad as that was, what was even sadder was when he woke up. Leo was so sad and we could not figure out why. Lots of Mommy time and some yummy chicken nuggets at Bubbie and Zadie's seemed to do the trick. At bedtime, Leo jumped into his bed and played a little bit while we were cleaning out his room and did seem excited to sleep in his new bed. I played it cool and pretended like this afternoon did not happen. I told him we were going to sing Sh'ma and he told me to "sit!" so I got into bed and then got right out of bed, tucked him in and that was that. No crying, no nothing. It will be interesting to see what happens. If he got as many of Danny's genes as it looks like, he should be a wonderful sleeper.

When I checked on him a little after I said goodnight. I didn't want to get too close!
When we checked on him a few minutes ago...we kind of woke him up - ooops. I think he was happy to gather up all of his CareBears, though ;)
Amelia got my sleeping genes, I will probably see her at the crack of dawn....
