First Things First
Unfortunately, Danny's grandfather - Zaido - passed away early this morning after a major heart attack. Danny is on his way to Montreal as I write this and, while I know how important this trip is for him and I wish that the kids and I could have gone too, I am sad to have him away from us - especially for Pesach, something Amelia has been looking forward for weeks. Bringing him to the airport brought back the 4 years we spent travelling back and forth, the goodbyes never being that much fun. As we were driving to dinner after dropping him off, Amelia asked why Daddy wasnt with us. I am thankful that I will only have a few days of that question, not a lifetime, like some other young families. Anywhooo...tomorrow is Erev Pesach and, by looking at my house, you may not be too sure. I still have to finish my kitchen, cover the counters, kasher the sink and microwave, do all the laundry in the house, sweep everywhere, vacuum everywhere else, pull my pesach dishes and figure out what else I need so that we can go shopping first thing in the morning. But, first things first. Nothing makes me happier than my children, and when I can't have Danny here, I need them more than anything. We got home and got right into our pajamas, but there was some time to play before bed. Leo started by helping me clean for Pesach and then grabbed a kippah to do some much needed reading. Amelia had some "work" to do on the couch and then did her superhero puzzle. I scrubbed the fridge with the extra few minutes I had. Leo tried to help with that too, but once he figured out that drawers = stepping stones, I decided I would finish later.
